In early 2004, several years before the new EEG 2009 came into force, a biogas plant with an output power of 50 kW was commissioned at the agricultural enterprise of the Zimmermann family. Ever since, the gas motor CHP has been supplying power and heat from renewable raw materials and manure produced by the farm.
The concept of a “compact farm biogas plant” as a meaningful expansion of the enterprise has been realized successfully since more than 4 years now. The liquid manure produced from dairy farming, approx. 33 % of the total input, is processed in the biogas plant and made available as a high-grade and odor-free fertilizer for the agricultural surfaces.
